BSU Alumni wins SouthCoast Teacher of the Month Contest - October 2019
Amanda Flannigan, a 2017 graduate from Bridgewater State University, received multiple nominations and won the SouthCoast Teacher of the Month Contest in October. She graduated from BSU with degrees in elementary education and psychology. She completed her student teaching at the Carlos Pacheco School in New Bedford and now works there full time as a 5th grade teacher. Parents of her students describe her as a "role model" to her students. One parent also stated, "Ms. Flannigan makes students feel safe and secure when they walk into her classroom. Not only does she support them academically but she supports them emotionally as well".
